The Class

Entrepreneurship through the Lens of Venture Capital explores the stages of growth and challenges experienced by startups. This process is explored through guest lectures and mentorship from experienced venture capital investors and seasoned entrepreneurs who manage these issues on a daily basis in Silicon Valley.

The course started as an exploration of how successful startups navigate funding, managing, and scaling their new enterprise. While there is no set formula for building a successful company, we believe basic principles and general patterns are manifested in the most successful start-ups.

Many people often discuss how technology is always being reinvented and disrupted, but there is also a good amount of change occurring within the venture capital industry. Within the past several decades there have been new entrants, from incubators to angels to different models of venture capital. The course has explored disruption in venture capital.

Today, the course explores venture capital from past to present, starting from the rise of Silicon Valley and the dot-com bubble, to incubators and equity crowdfunding platforms.
